Pennsylvania’s nature is as rich as its history. In this article, we’ll go through the best places for all of you outdoor and paddling maniacs to attend on your next road adventure in our lovely “The Keystone State”!
- The Delaware River: Besides being one of the most iconic rivers of the USA, the Delaware River is great for kayaking! The biodiversity and stunning landscapes can seem like a dream come true for any canoeist, novice, or pro!
- Otter Lake Camp Resort: This resort truly captures the contrast between the natural and the modern! If you are a passionate canoeist, you can enjoy the 60-acre lake, BUT if you are more modern, you can practice archery, tennis, basketball, and even attend a splash park and a game room!
- Ricketts Glen State Park: If you missed the camping season, don’t worry! We got you covered! Ricketts Glen State Park allows you to enjoy all the traditional (and even some non-traditional) outdoor activities year-round! Oh, and did we mention that it also has 22 waterfalls? No? Well, it has 22 WATERFALLS! If you are tired of crowded campsites, don’t worry! The park offers five deluxe cottages, ten modern cabins, and over 100 tent and trailer campsites!
- Hickory Run State Park: This park is a hiking paradise! With over 40 miles of hiking trails, anybody from a beginner to a veteran can enjoy the experience! Remember when we said that Ricketts has over 100 tent and trailer campsites? Well, Hickory has 300! The only drawback is the active bear population, which, well, likes to steal your food.
